Scaffolding Gin Wheel are use as lifting appliances in conjunction with ropes. They come in a variety of designs such as hook or ring types and are attach to a scaffold or structure to raise and lower a load. It is common to end splice the main gin wheel rope to form an endless rope with two smaller diameter ropes spliced into the main rope for attaching equipment.
